Dear Pandora Member,
May 12 is International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. In honor of this very special day, on May 6, 2007, we are presenting a film provided by the National Fibromyalgia Association, "Living With Fibromyalgia: A Journey of Hope and Understanding." This 70-minute documentary tells the story of seven individuals and through that, OUR journey and that of our families. In the movie there is an interview with a doctor as well.
It will be followed by brief presentations about the newest treatments and research as well as a question and answer session with our experts, Dr. Philippe Saxe, Rheumatologist and Researcher; Dr. Kenneth Woliner, Internist; and Dr. Craig Bauer, Chiropractic Physician. Information on nutrition regimen will also be available.
We need to continue to create awareness in our state for fibromyalgia and the movie shows the reasons why we need to establish the Florida Neuroendocrineimmune Institute," says Marla Silverman, president and founder of P.A.N.D.O.R.A., a nonprofit 501 c 3 organization for individuals with fibromyalgia and other neuroendocrineimmune disorders, and it is sponsoring the movie presentation. Our goal is to create awareness of the plight of individuals suffering with neuroendocrineimmune disorders. Our mission is to address and alleviate many of the issues that affect the quality of life of persons who are diagnosed with fibromyalgia and other neuroendocrineimmune disorders."
Yvette Taylor, Event Coordinator and member of P.A.N.D.O.R.A.'s Board of Directors, believes that this event " will be a wonderful opportunity for individuals with FM and their friends and family to meet and foster great a greater understanding of fibromyalgia. Our expert panel will be able to answer your questions, and this invisible disorder will gain new visibility in our community."
